Sierra Leone imports over 18 million eggs monthly, with only 10% produced domestically. Imported eggs are often stale and unsafe. The poultry sector lacks hatcheries, veterinary facilities, feed mills, consistent input supply, and technical expertise — making local, fresh protein production difficult and worsening national malnutrition.
The Solution:
Frontline Chickens has grown into one of the country's largest poultry farms, with capacity for 1 million eggs monthly and up to 50,000 layers. It supports maize farmers, applies best practices in veterinary care, and is expanding into feed and hatchery production — building an integrated, sustainable poultry value chain.
