Over 80% of Sierra Leone’s population remains unbanked. For millions, especially women and rural entrepreneurs, formal financial services are inaccessible. Without collateral or stable income, they’re excluded from systems offering loans, savings, and security. This exclusion restricts growth, deepens vulnerability, and prevents families from building a better future.
The Solution:
Since 2009, ACTB has built a trusted alternative to traditional banking. Starting with microloans, and with support from Truestone, it evolved into the country’s first deposit-taking microfinance bank. Today, ACTB serves 30,000+ clients through 14 branches, providing secure savings, loans, and financial tools to underserved communities.
